Technology has arrived!

Don't be too shocked! I have become a blogger. My bff Lesa has been begging me to get on the technology bandwagon for years, but I have been holding tight to my redneck, country standing...technology dumb!
I really don't know where to start. I guess I could give a brief description of the happenings of this week.

Sunday: On the drive home from church, my phone vibrates in my hand as I reach to make a call to Trish (my ex-sister-n-law). I answer to hear Jimmy's voice telling me that his grandmother, Memaw, has passed. Long story short, Brittni is informed and wants to go to Texas for the funeral. He makes flight arrangements and she is set to leave on Monday to return on Wednesday.

Monday: The alternator is out on the Taurus, so I get up at 5:30 a.m. to take Phillip to work. Swim Team practice starts at 8 a.m. I take all 5 kids (my three and Annette's two--she is at work) to the city pool. We are 30 minutes late. Oops! No other board members were able to assist the coach for the duration of practice, so I stayed until both practices were over--11:30 a.m.
Brittni's flight is due to leave at 4:44 p.m., so we figure that we can all go to the mall for a quick peek at Annette's new Forever 21 store before we go to the airport. Also, Britt is going to borrow Annette's extra phone (Britt got hers wet and broke it) that she has in her possession at work.
I set my goal for leaving at 2 p.m., but leave at 2:30 p.m.
It begins to rain.....heavily.
I pull out of my driveway and then proceed to the corner of the street. I begin to pull out and nearly plow over a 60 something woman on her motorcycle! I totally freaked and followed her to her house, a block away from mine. She turns out to be someone we know and I feel AWFUL!! I pull in and apologize profusely. She scolds me about watching out for "us" on the road (motorcyclists). I just take my chewing and continue to apologize. (I am making her some brownies tonight.)
We proceed to Monroe.
I get about 10 minutes down the road and realize that I have absolutely no form of identification for Britt. We turn around and get her school ID and her SS card.
It is now almost 3 p.m. and we are headed to Monroe.
We get to the airport and check Britt's bag. She realizes that she has not taken any dramamine (sp?). We head to the nearest Sonic and get back to the airport at 4:15 (the boarding time). YAY!!!
She goes through security. No problem.
We stand there and wait...
and wait...
and wait...
Finally at 4:50 something, they make an announcement that the flight will be post-poned until 6:30 or 7 p.m. due to bad weather in Dallas. Great!
I had all the kids with me and the natives were getting restless. Cori, Gabe and Nikki were beginning to burst at the seams and JoAnne and DaBin were getting cranky. All were hungry.
Okay...mom mode kicks in high gear.
I tell Britt to stay put just in case and that I was going to be back.
I went to the mall and dropped Joey and Gabe off to their mom, who was getting off at 5 p.m.
and then I proceed to hunt down the nearest fast food joint for the rest of my heathens.
I find a Burger King, okay, not the best, but it will have to do. I begin to pull in and my phone rings. It's Britt and she informs me that her flight has been cancelled and that she is now getting in line to change her flight. UGH!!!
I turn around in the parking lot of Burger King and my car begins to bellow with whining kids. "Shut it!!!" (because this is so much nicer than saying shut-up...HA HA!!)--we all have our delusions.
Anyway, I get back to the airport and we change the flight to Tuesday at 10:55 a.m.
We head back home and I make spaghetti. (the kids are still mad that their meal did not come with a crown, but OH WELL!!) They ate at "Mom's Palace" instead. HA HA!!
While I make dinner, Phillip (who walked home from work) took Nikki and Cori to their last make-up games. He then calls me and tells me that Cori was supposed to bring the snack, because she missed her game on Friday. DAG NAB IT!!!
He comes home to get me and we both go to Wal-Mart and get snacks and head to the game.
It was a good last game for both girls.
We get home about 9 ish and after getting the girls bathed and bedded, it is after 10. I get myself situated and in bed by 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday: I get up at 5:30 a.m. AGAIN!! grumble, grumble grumble....
We need to fix that stupid car!!!
Anyway, I do lay back down until 7 a.m. then get everyone up for swim practice and the airport.
I, of course, run late and have a fight with Joey because she feels the need to stay at home rather than show up a few minutes late. I make her get in the car anyway. Annette calls my cell before I even leave their driveway and we get into it--a little, not much over the "Joey wants to miss practice" thing. My main angst is towards Joey for waking her mother on her only day off in almost three weeks.
We get to the pool and Joey growls at me when she storms out of the car AND leaves the door open. I open my door and just about jumped out of my car at her. She is lucky I wear a seat belt. lol
She came back and shut my door--not slammed, like she wanted to--and then she huffed off. (She did apologize to me this afternoon though.)
I then head toward Monroe--again.
We get there and find out the the flight is delayed and will leave at 11:45 a.m. (I almost cussed--well, to be honest, I did in my head--ha ha!)
Britt and I sit in my car and hang until about 11:15 and then she went through security. I stood there looking at her and talking to her on her cell. It was kinda funny.
Her plane finally left at 11:53 a.m. and she got there at 1:30ish. We will see how the return flight turns out. I may never get my baby back!
I took Nikki and Cori to the dentist, the public library book fair and to Andy's for ice cream. We also ran a few random errands, so my afternoon was pretty busy. I made tuna casserole for dinner and Phillip took the girls to their ball awards ceremony while I made dinner.
DaBin spent the night at Jessa's house (her bff), so she was out of the picture all day.

The rest of my week is mainly to be on time to morning swim practice, pick up Britt on Thursday and to take her and Joey to their tennis practice (they made the high school team--they will be in high school next year--waaaa waaaa waaaa) Thursday evening along with evening swim practice for all 5. YAY!! (I know this sounds like a lot, but I like swim and tennis MUCH better than ball!---I am SOO glad ball is over!!)
morning swim practice--M-F 8-10:15 for Britt, Joey, Nikki and Cori 10:30-11:30 for Gabe
evening swim practice--M-F 5:30-7 p.m.
tennis practice--Tuesday's & Thursday's 2-4 p.m. for Joey and Britt
swim meets are every Saturday
Needless to say, the kids will not get too bored and they will get plenty of exercise. The best part is that they LOVE it and want to go. I only wish I had a portion of their energy.

This weekend is a sad one. It is our last one with DaBin. I figure that we will go see Kung Fu Panda and eat at Olive Garden. (Her choice for a last dinner out.) She leaves on Monday, so I will be a WRECK!! I really had a hard time when Lais left, but this one could possibly send me to anti-depressants. I guess we will see. I love her so much. I have been crying off and on for about two weeks and have began to cry right now typing this. I know she is not mine, but it is hard to convince my heart of that. I know how much I miss Lais and now I have to add DaBin to that pain. I really don't think I can do this again. It is just too hard.

Well I figure I better go make those, "Sorry I almost ran you over on your motorcycle in the rain" brownies. HA HA!! I really do feel bad about that. She was visibly shaking, it scared her so bad. Britt goes to school with her granddaughter and I know her daughter really well and Phillip used to work with the lady before she retired! Geez, I know how to pick my victims don't I?

Well, toodles for now!
Smooches and ciao!

I just wanted to say that I saw that you do hip hop abs! So do I! lol Unfortunately, I haven't been too dedicated or motivated, so who knows if I'll ever get those abs.
